What's the Secret?

I've been given a gift of joy, I've been given a gift of peace. 

This precious gift just keeps on giving, and my joy continues to increase.

The beautiful thing about this gift is that it was given for you too, 

to claim it just accept Christ's love for you.

One of the most frequent comments I get is: "you're so positive," followed by, "how are you always so happy?" This inquiry always gets me, because often it is not how I feel. I feel broken, confused and lonely. But early in life, I received a precious gift. This gift has been a sustaining joy, penetrating my heart in the worst of circumstances. This gift permeates everything in my life.

The gift is free and simple: Christ's love.

Let's Start at the Very...

Beginning. The Sound of Music was one of my favorite movies as a child. My mother was very strict about what we watched; The Sound of Music made the cut so I've watched it at least 17 times. The melodies of this film, and many other filter through the crevices of my mind frequently, and this is the place for them to come out. A place for random thoughts, things I think are beautiful, and anything else in my mind to be shared. This is the start, the very beginning, of me sharing some of the treasures of my heart.

Still Waters

Water still, reflecting her face

She prays for the strength to complete her race

The world before her, which way should she go?

Only one thing is certain: that she doesn't know

After years of searching, she released control

She trades it for the plans of the Lover of her soul

He heals her scars of abandon, mends her broken heart

He reminds her of her beauty, that she was treasured from the start

She continues her race with boldness, calling to Him when the road gets steep

Let her life be a reminder that still waters run deep
